Joe Ledley Biography

Joe Ledley was born on the 23rd of January, 1987. Along with the rest of his family, he was a massive Cardiff City fans.

He was lucky to have a family that was immersed in sports. He had a natural gift for soccer and decided this was the career path he wanted to go down.

At the age of nine, Joe joined Cardiff City's youth squad. He stayed with the team and worked his way up through the youth program.

Joe Ledley made his first team debut for Cardiff when he was only seventeen years old. He was quickly a fan favorite.

He continued to secure his place on the team with his solid performances throughout the year. He was playing in midfield and spraying passes across the pitch with his left foot.

During the season of 2007/2008, Everton came in with a bid of £4 million for Ledley which was rejected. Joe stated that he was desperate to stay at Cardiff. He was the hottest talent on the Cardiff team with several top teams chasing the signature of the talented Welshman.

His contract was running out, and there were ongoing talks about his future. The Cardiff chairman was criticizing him, saying he was not giving his all in the matches. This was untrue, and Joe had the backing of the coaching staff.

He decided it was time to leave after making 250 appearances and scoring 30 goals. He signed for Celtic FC.

Joe Ledley signed with Celtic in 2010. He said he felt at home with the Club and quickly settled in. He has been a key member of Celtic's multiple championships and in their magnificent run in the 2012/2013 Champions League where they defeated Barcelona in a game during the group phase.
